Two influencers have sadly died after attending a yacht party only minutes after posting selfies on social media.
Authorities shared that Aline Tamara Moreira de Amorim, 37, and Beatriz Tavares da Silva Faria, 27 sadly passed away after their yacht party boat sank off the coast of Devil’s Throat – a waterfall in Argentina.
They had been partying with a larger group. It was later discovered that there were too many guests on the boat.
Police commissioner Marcos Alexandre Alfino shared that the influencers had not been wearing life vests as they would “get in the way of their tanning”.
He said: “Some didn’t want to put them on because they were taking selfies.
“They said that they get in the way of their tanning.”

The captain of the boat, one of only five who survived, shared that he took six influencers on his vessel which was designed to carry five.
Vanessa Audrey da Silva, Camila Alves de Carvalho, Daniel Goncalves Ferreira, Gabriela Santos Lima and Natan Cardoso Soares da Silva were the other survivors of the sinking.
It was reported by local media that after the boat was hit with a wave, due to the weight exceeding the maximum capacity, the vessel sank.
Beatriz’s body was sadly recovered at the scene but Aline’s body took a week to wash up on shore.
Authorities are looking into if the horrific tragedy could have been prevented.
“All this is being determined very calmly to conclude if the fatalities were based on recklessness or negligence.” said Alfino.
